The setting is very important because it shows you where they are and what time of day it is. The story may have been able to happen in a different setting. It may work out but it may not work out. So if it didn’t work out it would be odd for the viewers to watch it because they would not understand. Like when they were in the courtroom the jury had all of the power. But when they were on the boat the captain of the ship would be in charge of them all. <(-_-)>
ReplyDeleteThe story took place on a ship called the bounty. In late December of 1873. The setting took 2 years. It was a ship of sailors with there horribly cruel and very deadly caption. He was never pleased and work had to be done or else. The caption had control over everything that happened on the ship what you ate where you slept and your conciseness for showing disobedience. The story couldn’t have taken place any where else. If it did then the crew wouldn’t have to listen to the caption. They could do what ever they wanted caption Blidge only had control over the ship if anywhere else he wouldn't make the slightest difference.
ReplyDeleteThe setting of “Mutiny on the Bounty” creates meaning for the viewer in many ways. One way it creates meaning for me specifically, is that it helps me get more into the story, because now I understand the basics of why some things in the story happen. I know that it was a long time back, it took place on a boat, and the captain had the power to do whatever he wanted even if that meant killing someone. If I didn’t know the setting, I probably wouldn’t have understood most of what was going on. That’s why I find that the setting of “Mutiny on the Bounty” was important to create meaning for the viewer.
ReplyDeleteThe setting is Important to the story because the setting may affect the mood of the characters/actors, for example if the setting is in a wet gloomy place, it may make you feel sad. In this case the setting was mainly in an ocean or on a bout. If it was in another place it wouldn’t really feel or look right, it would throw the theme or idea of the movie/story off. The person who had most power was probably the captain, because the captain tells everybody what to do, when to do it, and how to do it.
ReplyDeleteThe setting sets the meaning of the story as an old times movie. Also the meaning means that the whole story is back when medieval England still existed. I think that the setting sets the meaning very closely with the story as does the film making because the story is scripted in black and white witch suggested that this movie is very old. Also in the setting the captain had all the power and the sailors had very little power and the captain treated them like slaves. The setting could have also been in a very different situation. I think that if the setting had been on a ship then I think that the story would have been much clearer.
ReplyDeleteThe setting is at the harbor of the Southern sea, the ship, and the island. Most people don’t get to experience that excitement in a movie. It has a grater story line than some other old movies. In my opinion this is about one of the greatest movies ever made. The setting of this story doesn’t really change that much though out the story.
ReplyDeleteThe setting is at the harbor of the Southern sea, the ship, and the island. MY opinion about the setting is that setting is like the whole story to me. It tells you so much just thinking about it. The setting in Mutiny on the Bounty has a hot, tiring, dangerous setting. I do not think that the story would be better in a different setting. The guy who had all the power in the setting I think was Captain Bly.
ReplyDeleteI think that the setting seemed very open an there was no land near them and
ReplyDeleteOne person had all the power. It created a very kind of scary because the person that had all the power and could do anything at any time. The setting
Of the story fit it very well because they are being whipped and they have no where to run because they are in the ocean. I think that the captain had all the power because he was the one who made all the decisions. He also never got whipped and told people when they needed to get whipped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The setting for Mutiny on the Bounty creates meaning for the viewer because it shows what really happened on the Bounty and it is also showing what life was like back then. Their laws were very different and people were punished unfairly. The fact that it was a true story also gave it meaning because it was just that, a true story. Since it is a true story, it made you think that maybe life on the sea back then wasn’t what it is made to look like in movies. This setting is unique and it is very important to the story. The sea is where the event really happened and if it was somewhere else it would not have been a true story. It is also the only setting this story could take place in because some of the things that happen could not happen on land or in a different time period. The most powerful person in this setting on the ocean would have to be Captain Bly. He is the person who navigates and he holds the power to have people executed if he wishes.
ReplyDeleteI would be pretty scared if was in this setting because you don’t know if you are going to come home or not. Along with being killed by the captain if you do something wrong but storms are also dangerous. These men on the Bounty were probably really scared. I know I would be!
It creates meaning because it shows you all themes had hardships had in the story. It also shows that the people had to really tough it out you must see that life on one of these ships was not the life of a prince (unless your captain). This could happen in another setting as say going against or plotting against the king. The setting really sets it of because this really happened in real life. The person who had all the power was the captain because he really was a ruthless man and was super greedy. He stole Fletcher Christian pearls and was really mean!
ReplyDeleteMutiny on the bounty the setting is on the bounty ship. The setting creates meaning because on a boat many things can go wrong; for example you could get thrown off, or get hung, or the ship could sink! So always the audience is at the edge of their seat; hoping something doesn’t go wrong.
ReplyDeleteThe story couldn’t happen in another setting because they are going on a dangerous journey into the ocean. I could just imagine the things that are even in the ocean. Even today we don’t know much about the ocean and the things that live in it. But if we don’t know much now, imagine the things we knew back then, almost nothing!
The setting of “Mutiny on the bounty” creates meaning for the viewer because the setting of the story is VERY important. The story takes place mostly on a ship called the Bounty. If the story toke place, say in a town the meaning would not be the same. Captain Bly would not be able to steal the cheese in the town with out being caught. He would also not be able to beat all the crew members and throw them over-board because there is not side to throw them over board in a town. Captain Bly had all the power in the story because he is the captain and you had to follow his rules. If you enter The Bounty you will see all of the crew members sun-burned and cut. You might even see the cat-o-nine-tails. That is a whip used back then that had nine hooks.
ReplyDeleteI think the setting is important because if it was another setting then the story wouldn’t really make sense. I think the story could have happened in another place because you could make the other place look like it did or somewhat like it. The person who had all the power was the captain. The captain had control of everything. He could have you put to death; beaten .The setting in the story was shipman’s journey to a place to get exotic plants. The sea was full of dangers like storms.
ReplyDeleteThe setting is important in Mutiny on the Bounty because it gives you a feeling/idea on how hard it is living on a boat in the oceans. The storms were important because it also gives some dangers of living on a boat in the ocean. No the story couldn’t have another setting because it’s about life on the high seas not for example the park or a forest. The setting gives the story mood and if you took away that setting the story wouldn’t make any sense. The person who had all the power was Captain Bly. Because obviously he was the captain he made all the commands and the rules. Some people were scared of him because he was very cruel. The setting was on a ship called the bounty in 1817 Portsmouth England. Also a island was in the setting and a court house as well were part of the setting.
ReplyDeleteIf I was on this ship I would cry and be very scared. I don’t even like my grandfather’s boat! Captain Bly is who I am really scared of because he would kill you or whip you if you did something he didn’t like.
I thought that Byam was going to be convicted because, I don’t think that England really cares about the reason that the did it, but what they did is what they care about. In my opinion the mutiny was completely necessary to do because of the lives that the captain was taking. For example, he made a crew member climb to the top of the ship and stay up there for hours I a huge storm.
ReplyDeleteThe setting of Mutiny on the Bounty creates meaning for the viewer because if they didn’t have a long route then the journey wouldn’t have been so long, Fletcher Christian probably wouldn’t have done the mutiny, and not as much sailors would have died or suffered as long. Also if the mutiny wouldn’t happen at sea, and on Tahiti or somewhere else, they wouldn’t have thrown Captain Bly and his loyal sailors overboard. This is TRAVIS28 signing out.
ReplyDeleteThis is how I think the setting adds meaning to the story. I think it does because since people on the ship were being treated unfairly it makes you feel mad or upset. It also does because the captain on the ship is being unfair to most of the sailors. Another way it makes you feel is excited or alert because of many things such as harsh weather, mutiny, and all of the other things that are dangerous on the ship. That’s why I think the setting adds meaning to the story.
ReplyDeleteI think that the setting of Mutiny on the Bounty is very important. It couldn’t have happened in a different setting because the story is about the crew on the Bounty and how they took over the ship. The setting is a ship called the Bounty set sail in the middle of the ocean with no land in site for half of the story. If this story was to take place in an amusement park or a horse farm it wouldn’t make sense. The captain had all the power in the setting, because the captain is like a god when the ship is at sea, he could kill whoever he wanted to, starve whoever he wanted to and whip whoever he wanted to and the crew had no say in any of his authority.
ReplyDeleteThe setting of mutiny on the Bounty creates meaning for the viewer. It creates meaning for the viewer because, they are out at sea. When the crew commits mutiny, they send the captain to England on a small row boat. If they were not out at sea, the captain could just run to the police! Instead they have no idea if the captain will make it back to England alive. This story could not have happened in another setting.
ReplyDeleteThe setting of Mutiny on the Bounty is 1787, in Port Smouth. This setting creates meaning because the characters in the movie dress in clothes that people now wouldn’t dress, so that tells you that the setting is in the past. Also the accent the characters talk with tells you that it’s in England. If the setting was not in the past it would not make sense that people would be wearing the coats and hats that they did in the movie, and it wouldn’t make sense that the characters would have an English accent if they were some where else. The setting is important so that the audience is not confused about the way they dress or the accent they have. Captain Bligh had all the power in this setting because he was the captain of the ship and the crew has to obey him.
ReplyDeleteThe movie starts off in the Portsmouth Harbor in December 1787 on the Bounty. They go on a voyage on the uncharted waters of the Great South Sea. The person who had the most power was Captain Bly (although he abused his power). Later in their voyage they land on an island with many plants and lush areas and a tribe of people. Eventually they go back home but the crew takes over the ship and go back to the island and spend Christmas there. Some of them go with Bly in a little boat on the rough waters but some stay with Christian. Near the end of the movie Bium is being tried for going against the captain in a very fancy English courtroom. I don’t think that this story could have happened in another setting.
ReplyDeleteThe setting is important because nothing in the story would have or could have happened. Like the knife or any of the men being picked to GO ON BOARD.
ReplyDeleteThis story could not have happened in another setting because they couldn’t have been able to go on an island and meet all of the people. Also the ways to kill someone on the boat or the dangers because they are different on shipboard than on land.
The person who had all of the power was captain Blind. The captain could do whatever he wanted to do like kill someone. He decided where they would take the ship. Like with Byam in the court they decided to kill him but then not to kill him. He could tell anyone what to do.
The setting of mutiny on the Bounty creates the meaning by telling the view that the story takes place on a ship with sailors and a mean caption .The setting is important because with out the ship there would be no travel and the whole story is about there voyage. The story could not happen some where else because the need a ship to go on there trip. I think the caption was in charge of this setting because the setting is the one with the most power on the ship.
ReplyDeleteThe setting is important because it has to help show the movie. Without the setting the movie title and script would make no sense. Also it is important because if they showed then in a small sail boat it would not make the movie as interesting.
ReplyDeleteNo, the setting would not have made much sense if it was changed because the story takes place on a ship. If it was taking place in a desert and the people where saying things like “we are all on this ship together”, then the viewer would not like it as much and be confused.
I think that caption Blye had the most power because he controlled the ship. He could boss sailors around too. Also he had most control in the ship setting because he owned the ship and had the power to kill sailors who disobeyed his rules.
The setting is probably important because there probably wasn’t no other place to make the movie. The story could had happened in a different setting because there is other place to play the movie. The setting in the movie had a big sea or ocean and there is other places that have big seas or oceans. The sea had all the power in the setting. The setting had a big sea. It also rained a lot in the setting. Another part of the setting was the ship. The ship had a lot of people on it. That is the setting in the movie Mutiny on the Bounty.
ReplyDeleteThe setting in this story was in the ship called the bounty and on an island of friendly people and in the court room in England also in the small boat casted away from the ship! The stetting is important to the story because, that’s what the story is about. The story takes place on a ship called the bounty and that’s what the story is about the adventures of the ship called the bounty. No because the story was about the ship so if the stetting was different the title and actual story wouldn’t be true because the story is called mutiny on the bounty! It was really two people that had all the power it was the captain and Christian Fletcher because the captain had all the power in the beginning but then in the middle Fletcher started gaining a lot of the peoples respect and lead a successful mutiny against the captain they threw them off the ship.
ReplyDeleteThis is travis22s new post because I misspelled Byam's name on accident... The movie starts off in the Portsmouth Harbor in December 1787 on the Bounty. Near the end of the movie Byam is being tried for going against the captain in a very fancy English courtroom. I don’t think that this story could have happened in another setting.
ReplyDeleteThe setting is very important in this movie because if there where no setting than it would be a big waste of time creating the movie. Since the story was supposed to be out at sea if there
ReplyDeletewasn’t a ocean than there would be no point of putting the setting out at sea. I don’t think that the movie could have happened in another setting because of what the movie was talking about and the time it was happening in.
I think that the caption had all the power in this setting because he was the one who yell at everyone.
It creates meaning to the viewer by telling them that the Captain is irresponsible of leading the crew. The setting is very important because you would not be able to get a picture in your mind of what it looked like. Also the setting affects what is going on and off the ship. I don’t think it could happen in a different setting because if they have a boat but they are somewhere else like in the mountains then it will be really hard to sail it. The setting has lots of ropes on ship and depending on the weather it is cloudy, windy, and gray clouds. Those are all my answers.
ReplyDeleteThe setting of the mutiny on the Bounty was in the middle of the ocean on the SS Bounty in 1787. The night that Christian and Byam were supposedly plotting the mutiny it was storming and rainy. The setting was very important because lots of things could not have happened like after Christian and his followers took over the ship they could not have left the captain stranded on a small life boat with his loyalists. Also a captain is in charge of the ship as is the one in the stoty so if the mutiny was in another setting (not on a ship) punishments for certain things could have been different. I personally liked the setting but I just wish that they would have a harsher punishment for the bubble brain captain. OFF WITH HIS HEAD! REPLY IF YOU THINK SO TOO!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is travis 31 and she had a little error in my answer. I wrote 1718 but I really meant 1787 sorry for the error see you tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI think that the setting affects the characters and the movie because how they act and what they do are affected because they are on a boat and in the beginning of the movie every one on the boat got sea sick. The weather also affects the story because it was raining and water kept splashing on the boat and that was making it hard for people to stand up. I don’t think that the movie could happen anywhere else because if the movie were some were else then it would take away the dangerous of life on a ship away. The main person who had the most power on the ship was Captain Bligh because he was giving all of the orders. I think that the most dangerous part of the movie was when they first set sail and they were out on the sea and it was raining and water started to get up on the ship and people started to fall of!
ReplyDeleteResponding to travis3 i like the description of the dangers on the ship you made.
ReplyDeleteResponding to travis22. I agree with you about the fact that this story could not have happened in another setting. This story is definetly only meant for the sea.
ReplyDeleteI'm responding and I agree with TRAVIS22'S blog. Captain Bly did abuse his power as a captain. He also has issues because he told the whipper to whip a dead guy and he enjoyed it. I'm also responding to travis10's blog, and I agree that Captain Bly should have gone onto his own trial for abusing the ship men.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Travis ten because he is completly correct.
ReplyDeleteThe setting of Mutiny on the bounty creates the meaning for the viewer because its on a boat and that’s the main setting. It is important for a student to know where the setting is. It was taking place in the 1700s it was kind of obvious because of the way they were dressed and the old looking ship that has to go by the wind. In this setting the captain had all the power, he was in charge .He could do anything he wanted.
ReplyDeleteThe setting was on the SS Bounty in the middle of the ocean in 1787. In one of the scenes, Christian and Byam were plotting the munity but it was stormy and rainy. The setting is important because a lot of things could not have happened to the crew and the captain. The actual setting was Portsmith Harbor, in 1787
ReplyDeleteReplying to travis 26. . . . . . . . . . . .
ReplyDeleteI think that the captin was cruel to for killing who ever or starving who ever he wanted.
The setting helps the viewers understand the meaning by showing how hard it is to travel on boat.
ReplyDeleteThe setting is very important because its basically on a ship and the crew search for land. The story could have happened on the rock and show the outcome of the story after they stayed on the rock. The captain had all the power by stealing the crew’s food. The setting of the story is on a wet boat traveling across the Atlantic Ocean.
Replying to travis17 I agree with you because i think the mutiny was right too the captain was taking lives for no reason and they had to save themselves. so yes i think the mutiny was completly nessasary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am responding to Travis16. I agree with you because it would be a waste of time. Also I think that it wouldn't be the same if the setting was not in the sea. If the setting is in a lake they wouldn't have a big ship that size.
ReplyDeleteReplying to travis14...... I think that that person had a run on sentence. The first sentence contained to much information in one sentence. She or he could have seperated that information like this.....
ReplyDelete"The setting in this story was in the ship called the bounty, and on an island of friendly people. the setting was also in the court room in England".
Istead of saying........ "The setting in this story was in the ship called the bounty and on an island of friendly people and in the court room in England also in the small boat casted away from the ship".
I think Byam will NOT be set free because he did not participate in the mutiny (taking over the ship). When the knife is facing the person who did the crime that means that the person who did the crime is going to get hanged. The knife was facing him so that means that he was going to die. After that he gave a speech which made him not get hanged.
ReplyDeleteI think that the setting affected the people on the ship because it gave them the action on the ship and if there was no setting there would be no action. Like Captain Bligh he was the leader and gave them setting action he told them what to do.Also the rain and the sickness of people also gave it some action. I think that some of the parts that are dangerous is when they set sailed and the capitain was abusing the shipmates. I don't think it could it could be filmed anywhere else.
ReplyDeleteRedo:
ReplyDeleteThe setting is important because it has to help show the movie. Without the setting the movie title and script it would make no sense. Also it is important because if they showed then in a small sail boat it would not make the movie as interesting. Or nearly as intense.
No, the setting would not have made much sense if it was changed because the story takes place on a ship. If it was taking place in a desert and the people where saying things like “we are all on this ship together”, then the viewer would not like it as much and be confused.

ReplyDeleteThis is how I think that the setting on the ship affected the meaning for the viewer. I think it affected the meaning because on the ship many bad things were happening such as mutiny or being whipped so it felt very gloomy. It also changed the meaning because a lot of the shipmates were being treated unfairly by Captain Bligh. Another reason is that the outcome of things is very unexpected and brings up the suspense in certain parts of the story. That is why I think that the setting affected the meaning for the viewer.
Redo:
ReplyDeleteI think that the setting in Mutiny on the Bounty is very important. It happens on a ship and the story revolves around the crew and how they take over the ship. If the story took place somewhere else it would not make any sense to the viewer because if they are on land or another dry place the story would be very confusing. The setting is a ship, called the Bounty, which has set sail and is in the middle of the ocean. Captain Bligh has all the power on the ship and is treated like a god; he can do whatever he wants to with the ship and the crew.
REDO: The setting was on the SS Bounty in the middle of the ocean in 1787. The setting took 2 years. It was a ship of sailors and their horribly cruel and very deadly captain… The captain was never pleased, and he would punish anyone who didn’t do their job or their work on the ship. The setting took place on the ship and on an island. The setting is important because a lot of things could not have happened to the crew and the captain. The actual setting was Portsmith Harbor, in 1787. The setting also shows how hard it is to live on a boat with a cruel captain….
ReplyDeleteRedo. I think that this story could not have taken place any where besides the Bounty. I think this because, if it didn't hapen on the bounty then Captian Bligh may not have been the captian of the ship. If Bligh was not the captian of the ship, there would be no need to tell the story. This story happens December 1787 on the Bounty.
ReplyDeleteThe setting is important because nothing in the story would have or could have happened. Like the knife or any of the men being picked to GO ON BOARD.
ReplyDeleteThis story could not have happened in another setting because they couldn’t have been able to go on an island and meet all of the people and the ways to kill someone on the boat. Or the dangers they are different on shipboard than on land.
The person who had all of the power was captain Blind. The captain could do whatever he wanted to do like kill someone. He decided where they would take the ship. Like with Byam in the court they decided to kill him but then not to kill him. He could tell anyone what to do. It creates meaning because where the story is. It is on a boat so they will keep moving. If it was with anything else it would make no sense. If it was on a tiny sailboat it wouldn’t be as interesting as it was with the big ship.
The year 1787 also describe how the men dress too!!!!!!
Redo:The setting of PortSmouth 1787, is important because the characters in the movie wear clothes that people of the present wouldn't normally wear. Also the characters have an english accent, so it would make sense that they are in England. That shows how the setting shows meaning. It wouldn't make sense if the characters had an english accent but were in another country. The setting makes sure that the audience doesn't have questions about where they are. Captain Bligh had all the power because he was the captain and everyone had to listen to him.
ReplyDeleteRedo I think the ship bounty creates a setting for the viewer by showing them the dangers of the ship. The setting is important because you need the ship to go on the voyage. The story could not happen because they went on a voyage on a ship. The captain had all the power because the owner of the ship is the captains he could also hang, whip, and kill the crew.
ReplyDeleteRedo: I think the setting is very important to the story because, the story is called mutiny on the Bounty & if the stetting was on a mountain for example instead of the Bounty the title just wouldn’t make sense. Also, no the story couldn’t have been any were else because the story took place in 1786 and if the story was not on the Bounty most of the time the storyline & the title wouldn’t make sense. I think there were two people that had all of the power Captain Bligh & Christian Fletcher but I think that Christian Fletcher really had the power because we had the support if the sailors on the ship &he was able to kick the captain off of his own ship and lead the ship from then on. I think that this was a good movie and u really learn about how life was in the Bounty!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteRedo… The movie starts off in Portsmouth Harbor in England in December 1787 on the Bounty. They go on a voyage on the uncharted waters of the Great South Sea. Near the end of the movie Byam is being tried for mutiny on the Bounty in a very fancy English courtroom. I don’t think that this story could have happened in another setting. The setting was very important to the story because it shows where everything was happening and if the setting want developed then the story would make no sense.
ReplyDeleteRedo,
ReplyDeleteThe setting in this story is Portsmouth 1872, in late December. I think that the setting is important because if you don’t have a setting in a story,
It is not a story. The story could have taken place in another place because the setting is on a ship on a big sea. There is other places that have big seas. The person who had all the power was captain bilge. He had all the power because he would whip people and punish people for what they did. I also think that the sea had some of the power because the sea was powerful and the sea gave out big waves. That is why this setting is important.
Redo: The setting of the movie “mutiny on the bounty” took place in 1872 in late December. I think the setting is very important to the movie because it couldn’t have happened anywhere else….and if I did it probably wouldn’t have been as exiting as it would be on a ship. The person who had the most power in the movie was captain blight. I think that the most dangerous part if the movie was in the begging when their was a storm and the water kept splashing up on the ship and it was making it hard for everybody to stand up and every body kept

ReplyDeleteThe mutiny on the bounty’s setting gives lots of meaning to the story. The setting is on the ss Bounty in the middle of the ocean in 1787and it is on a ship. I guess that the ship setting gives the story a manly feeling or something like that that would make the setting have some mood in particular that contributes to the story’s theme. If the story was in a different setting then the entire theme would be different.
Redo: I think that the setting of mutiny of the bounty creates meaning for the viewers because it wouldn’t make sense if it was somewhere else. It wouldn’t make sense if it took place in the middle of the desert it just doesn’t seem right it has to take place on the seas because a boat can’t be any were else but the sea. Since it took place in 1786 it makes it look old fashion if it took place now it would seem brand new with all this technology we have. The other thing that made the setting have meaning was the characters like Captain Bligh he was the leader of them all and he told them what to do like clean up the poop deck and things like that .They also had Christian Fletcher who took over the ship.
ReplyDeleteRedo!!!!!!!! The setting in Mutiny on the Bounty creates meaning for the viewer because Mutiny on the Bounty is based on a true story. Because it is based on a true story you can imagine the hardship on the ship. You can also imagine how Captain Bly was in real life. Meaning effects any story. Like Little Red Riding Hood. If it didn't happen in the woods, the wolf woudn't even be in the story.
ReplyDeleteTHE SETTING PORTRAYS THE FACT THAT ITS A OLDEN TIMES MOVIE. I THINK THAT THE MEANING OF THE MOVIE IS TO TELL WHAT LIFE IS ALL ABOUT ON A SHIP AS A SAILOR.
ReplyDeleteREDO: I think that the setting seemed very open an there was no land near them and
ReplyDeleteOne person had all the power.
The captain was very creule
he was very mean to all of the ship mates.

ReplyDeleteWhat you said had nothing to do with the setting you just talked about how the movie was put together. Who cares if it was black and white? That’s the setting of the timing of when the movie was made. You were supposed to tell of the actual story’s setting.
Redo:The setting is very important because it shows you where they are and what time of day it is. <(-_-)>
ReplyDeleteRedo-The setting for Mutiny on the Bounty creates meaning for the viewer because it shows what really happened on the Bounty. Another way it creates meaning is because if the route hadn’t had been so long none of the adventure would had occurred. None of the mutiny would have taken place and it would be a pretty bad movie. Since it is a true story, it made you think that maybe life on the sea back then wasn’t as good as other movies and cartoons make you think.
ReplyDeleteThis setting is unique and it is very important to the story. The sea is the only place where a mutiny could take place. It is also the only setting this story could take place in because some of the things that happen could not happen on land or in a different time period.
The most powerful person in this setting would have to be Captain Bly. He is the person who navigates and he holds the power to have people executed if he wishes.
I would be pretty scared if was in this setting because you don’t know if you are going to come home or not. Along with being killed by the captain if you do something wrong, storms are also dangerous. These men on the Bounty were probably really scared. I know I would be!
Redo:
ReplyDeleteMutiny on the bounty setting is on the Bounty ship, in the 1700 hundreds. The setting creates meaning because on a boat many things can go wrong; for example you could get thrown off, or get hung, or the ship could sink! So always the audience is at the edge of their seat; hoping something doesn’t go wrong. The caption is caption Bly, he is really mean. He whips people for just asking for water! He is even made someone who is sick work on the ship! Now I would not want to go on that ship!
The story couldn’t happen in another setting because they are going on a dangerous journey into the ocean. I could just imagine the things that are even in the ocean. Even today we don’t know much about the ocean and the things that live in it. But if we don’t know much now, imagine the things we knew back in the 1700 hundreds then, almost nothing!
Redo………. The setting is Important to the story because the setting may affect the mood witch would affect how the characters act. For example if the setting is in a wet, sad, gloomy place, it may make you feel sad. In the case of this story, the setting was mainly in an ocean or on a boat. If it was in another place it wouldn’t really feel or look right, it would throw the theme or idea of the movie/story off. I think that the person who had the most power was probably the captain, because the captain tells everybody what to do, when to do it, and how to do it.
ReplyDeleteRedo……. I think the setting is important because if it was another setting then the story wouldn’t really make sense. I think the story could have happened in another place because you could make the other place look like it did or somewhat like it. If it was different the story wouldn’t have as much meaning as it did. The person who had all the power was the captain. The captain had control of everything. He could have you put to death or get beaten .The setting in the story was shipman’s journey to a place to get exotic plants. The sea was full of dangers like storms or the ship could sink. This is what I know about the setting of the bounty lay’s journey.
ReplyDeleteThe setting for Mutiny on the Bounty creates meaning for the viewers by showing how the crew had to struggle threw there long journey. So the setting is really important because if it was another setting it would not have made any sense because it about a crew of people going to look for land. So the setting is very important because its basically on the ship the whole story. The person who has all the power is the captain because he would smuggle the crews hard earn food and eat it himself so therefore he would whip the crew. So the setting was on a wet British boat!
ReplyDeleteRedo…The setting of “Mutiny on the Bounty” creates meaning for the viewer in many ways. One way it creates meaning for the viewers (me specifically), is that it helps me get into the story. Now I understand the basics of why some things in the story happen. I know that it was a long time back. It took place on a boat. The captain had the power to do whatever he wanted (even if that meant killing someone). If I didn’t know the setting, I probably wouldn’t have understood most of what was going on. That’s why I find that the setting of “Mutiny on the Bounty” was important to create meaning for the viewers.
ReplyDeleteI think you kids are doing a great job blogging. I'm glad you are learning at such a young age. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteThe setting of “Mutiny on Bounty” creates meaning for the viewer because it takes place on a ship called Bounty which belongs to the captain, Bly. If the story didn’t have a setting then the story about a ship wouldn’t make sense. If the story didn’t take place in the ocean and on an island then the story still wouldn’t make sense because the setting creates mood and feeling for the story and viewers. Bly, the captain of the ship has the most power because he controls what the crew and slaves do.
ReplyDeleteThe setting on mutiny on the bounty is important because the story had to take place on the ship! The story can’t take place in a restaurant because the story would not turn out right! I mean how are they going to get to the island with a flying restaurant?! The story would not make sense if they were traveling on a restaurant instead of a boat! A lot of things could not have happed in a restaurant that happened on the ship. The mutiny that happened on the ship could not have happened in the restaurant! When captain Bly stole the cheese that could have happened in the restaurant but it is not very likely.

ReplyDeleteThe setting is important in Mutiny on the Bounty because it gives you a feeling or an idea on how hard it is living on a boat. The storms were important in the setting because it gives a danger of living on a boat in the ocean. No the story couldn’t have another setting because it’s about life on the high seas not for example the park or a forest. This setting was only meant for the ocean .The setting gives the story mood and if you took away that setting the story wouldn’t make any sense. The person who had all the power was Captain Bly. Because obviously he was the captain he made all the commands and the rules he could also starve who ever and kill who ever he wanted. Some people were scared of him because he was very cruel. The setting was on a ship called the bounty in 1787 Portsmouth England. Also an island was in the setting and a court house as well was part of the setting.
If I was on this ship I would cry and be very scared. I don’t even like my grandfather’s boat! Captain Bly is who I am really scared of because he would kill you or whip you if you did something he didn’t like.
Redo- I think that the setting of this story has a huge affect on it because at some points in the story some events couldn’t happened. For example, at one point in the story captain Gly made a crew member go to the top of the ship during the storm because of something he did, and it killed him. If there wasn’t a storm than he probably wouldn’t of died in the storm. That’s my best example of how the setting is very important

ReplyDeleteThe setting of the Mutiny on the Bounty creates the meaning for the viewer because it is on a ship and that’s basically the only setting. It was made in the 1700s and the way their dressed is what you can infer is the century/time. Also ship can only go by the wind and in the movie , it’s black and gray that’s how old it is.
In the movie “Mutiny on the Bounty” the setting creates meaning to the viewer by showing importance. It shows it is important by it being so precious to all of the people on board. I think the story could have taken place on a stranded island that isn’t really stranded after all. I think that the person who has absolute power is Captain Bly because while on the bounty he gives orders that are not very fair to the crew and if they don’t do the job to the best of there ability they will get beat badly. And he basically is god on this huge, dark, bloody, wet place that no one wants to be on for 2 years
